makes it possible to make cuts in the digestive tract by compressing the tissues instead of incising them, which achieves a more progressive cut, limiting the risk of perforation.<br \/><br \/><\/span><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">This device makes it possible to treat rare diseases such as diverticulum.<br \/><br \/><\/span><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">This project is the result of a multidisciplinary collaboration between<br \/><\/span><\/p><ul><li><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">the Beams (Bio, Electro and Mechanical Systems) department of the Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles (ULB)<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">the Gastroenterology Department of the Erasmus Hospital<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">the Brussels Medical Device Center (BMDC) and<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">It was funded by Innoviris and is currently looking for partners to reach the CE mark.<br \/><br \/><\/span><span class=\"ng-star-inserted\">The device won the \u201cdevice of the year\u201d award at the annual ESGEdays conference in
