elementor-size-default\">ENDOSCOPY : A REVOLUTION<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7810cc8 elementor-widget class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><b>For 50 years,<\/b> flexible <b>endoscopy<\/b> has represented a <b>revolution in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies of the digestive tract<\/b>, <b>bile ducts and pancreas<\/b>: the appearance of video-endoscopy, then high-definition endoscopy and finally echo-endoscopy, allows us to visualize the structure of the organ\u2019s walls in an ever finer way, to define the stages of tumor infiltration and to examine the adjacent organs.&nbsp;<\/p><p>This has naturally led to considerable progress in terms of treatment and in<strong> the control of digestive hemorrhages, the placement of prosthetic device in case of stenosis, the extraction of gallstones,<\/strong> the treatment of surgical complications or abdominal collections.<\/p>\n<p>More recently, these therapeutic abilities have expanded <b>to include the resection of superficial tumor<\/b>s, and the treatment of obesity or functional pathologies of the <b>digestive tract<\/b>. It allows, for example, physicians to perform real sutures and manipulate organs by lifting or affixing them.<\/p><p>Given the success of clinical trials, a first spin-off from the University, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.endotools.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Endotools Therapeutics<\/a>, was created: it commercializes a simplified version of this device, which helps treat morbid obesity by reducing the volume of the stomach naturally and through sutures.<\/p><p>From a research perspective, the triangulation system identified <strong>two important issues<\/strong> in therapeutic endoscopy:<\/p><ul><li>Lack of <strong>depth measurement <\/strong>when visualizing the digestive tract<\/li><li>Lack of <strong>force measurement<\/strong> when handling tissues.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element example, the precise injection of therapeutic compounds into the desired zone or the \u00a0\u00bb tactual exploration \u00a0\u00bb in augmented reality of certain lesions, allowing them to be better
